Hi Christina! It's awesome to have you over on Night Owl Reviews to showcase your fabulous art. As a colorist and romance reader your adult coloring book really spins my wheels.
What inspired you to put out a coloring book with the focus of romance novels? I think yours is the first of its kind to focus just on this topic in a broad sense of the genre.
I've been dooodling books for about 4 or 5 years, so making illustrations for a coloring book only seemed right to continue to do what I love, but in a way that others could be a part of creating the artwork as well.
What is your process? Do you hand draw, digital draw or both?
I hand draw everything. Normally I start with pencil, then go over it in pen. Sometimes I freehand with straight pen without drawing in pencil first. It depends on where I'm at in the drawing and the placement of a piece of the art I'm placing into it.
What types of art mediums do you use and what is your all-time favorite drawing tool?
I really only work with pencil and pen. I'm terrible with paint brushes. I think my all time favorite drawing tool is my pen.
How do you come up with a design? Do you have a specific book in mind, author or trope?
I can say with 100% honesty, that I never have the entire drawing in my mind when I start. I normally start with a specific piece in my head, I guess you can say the inspiration for the drawing. Once I get that down, I just start adding more and more until it's done.
How long have you been drawing and how did you go from beginner to pro?
I've been drawing for about 5 years or so. I think I've learned through trial and error, and the more I do it, the better I become. So I would say it's kind of like the practice makes perfect mentality.
How would you describe your artistic style.
All over the place? Haha. It was hard for me to ever consider what I do art. I still feel like they're dooodles you can find in any high schoolers notebook.
Do you have an all-time favorite romance author? Who? Have you done a drawing based on their books?
I do! Colleen Hoover is my favorite and I've done quite a few drawings based on her books :)
With this being your first coloring book, do you have more planned?
Of course! I would love doing a few more! I have some ideas at this time of what I could do next, and I'm excited to see what happens next!
Where can colorists find out more about your art?
Outside of art, what else do you have going on in your life?
Right now, just being a dog mom, and working a full time job :)
Thanks so much for visiting!
