This is a super cute book that helps kids and adults learn to draw with very basic shapes as a starting point. The characters you and your kids can learn to draw range from cats and dogs to farm animals, woodland creatures all the way to dinosaures. I loved how the author also shows you how to give the animals expressions that really make your characters come to life.
I'm partial to cats and found the cat section fun. I do wish there was a bit more to it...maybe a whole book of different cat types. The baby chick was also a fun drawing to attempt as well as boxy bear and pointy. Overall the book has many wonderful characters to learn to draw. This is not a short book, it's packed with lots of creativity and over 160 pages of animals and line draw directions.
The age group the publisher put down on this book is Preschool and up. I think the adoption of this book at preschool age will be heavily dependent on your child's art skill level. They will need to be able to draw lines, circles as well as have a sense of size and space.
Overall, I loved this book and it has inspired me to get into drawing more. I feel this book is awesome for anyone who wants to get into drawing at the ground level.
